About the Author
Dennis Hargis, a dedicated educator and psychologist, is a graduate of Fort Hays State University, where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Master's Degree in School Psychology. He received his Administrative Certification from Emporia State University. Both of these institutions are in Kansas. His love for children has spanned over 40+ years, serving in the capacity of a summer school counselor, educator of exceptional children in college, school psychologist in both the public schools and a psychiatric setting, administrator of a special purpose school, and principal of an elementary school. He resides in Overland Park, Kansas in proximity to his four sons and six grandchildren.
Throughout his career, his emphasis has been on children and adolescents requiring special needs. They have many difficulties to overcome that the rest of us take for granted. He is also dedicated to the education of the mentally ill. Oftentimes, they are victims in society as they try to cope with day-to-day living.
Breaking down barriers among people through effective communication and interpersonal relationships is a personal goal for Dennis. He believes that a deep love for God and the reduction of prejudice and misunderstanding among people will result in cooperation and unity.
